hearwesit is an interactive sound sculpture installation that will activate as soon as someone sits on the tractor seat mounted on the backside of the piano. Electromechanical actuators will begin “playing“ the piano strings, audible through the giant headphones.

As a lifelong practitioner of kinetic sound-art, Trimpin is merging different disciplines like music, sculpture, and technologies into a new form of artistic expression. Collaborations in different genres established a wide spectrum of works with artists ranging from Samuel Beckett, Merce Cunningham, Conlon Nancarrow, Kronos Quartet, and the Seattle Symphony, among others. Numerous grants and fellowships made it possible to continue pursuing this artistic concept including FCA New York, Guggenheim, and MacArthur Fellowship.
