Cynthia Masterson, born in Oklahoma City, OK now lives and beads in Seattle, WA. She is a self-taught beadworker working her Comanche tribe’s three-drop gourd bead weaving technique using Czech seed beads sizes 11 to 15. Much work was gifted to family and friends, including nine walking canes, countless key chains, pens, Gourd Dance shakers and dance fan handles. She has preserved sacred heirlooms, documented family bead patterns, and revived pawnshop cast-offs that were headed for the trash. She works from her studio, Blue Dot Beadwork, but often beads anywhere, sharing the three-drop gourd stitch with everyone she meets.
